We Scale Care: The Idealist Consulting Difference

In the world of business and technology consulting, where companies often vie for industry primacy, it can be challenging to discern what sets one apart from the rest. Recently, I had the privilege of engaging in a video interview with Salesforce, during which the question arose, "What makes Idealist Consulting special?" This inquiry led me to reflect deeply on what truly makes us unique. I realized that our unwavering commitment to care is what distinguishes us from the competition.

Scaling Care: Our Fundamental Approach

At Idealist Consulting, “We scale care”. This is not just a catchphrase, but a core belief that permeates every facet of our organization and is manifested and amplified in two fundamental ways.

First, we integrate care directly into our processes, from Marketing to Sales to Services. Care is not an afterthought but a guiding principle that ensures our clients feel heard and valued throughout their journey with us. An exemplary manifestation of this commitment is Story Navigator (SN), a solution that not only emphasizes listening to our clients but also demonstrates that we have genuinely heard them. By employing SN in our projects, we scale care exponentially, leaving no room for doubt about our attentiveness to project outcomes.

Second, the care we have for our client projects becomes an inherent part of the work produced. By empowering our clients to extend this care to their constituents, we create a positive ripple effect in the communities we serve. Our mission is not just to provide technology solutions, it is to foster a culture of care that transcends our interactions and touches the lives of those we serve.

Attracting the Industry's Attention

Our commitment to care has not gone unnoticed. While Idealist Consulting has been scaling care for years, our philosophy of applying care in our project methodology has received heightened attention in recent years. This is largely due to the collective need in our industry to feel a connection that is more than transactional. Idealist Consulting’s nearly 3x growth in the last two years is further affirmation that this is a real desire for many organizations. While some consultancies undoubtedly possess competence, efficiency, and value, what ultimately sets us apart is the genuine care we have for the missions we serve.

Our clients see and feel our dedication to their cause and mission, and that is what often distinguishes us from competitors. This is largely due to the fact that the majority of our staff have been or are actively engaged in nonprofit efforts. One such example is my service with The Peace Corps and Red Cross. Both experiences had direct effects on processes and culture throughout Idealist Consulting. Ultimately, our goal is not just to deliver solutions, but to understand, empathize, and bring genuine care to our work and the missions and communities we support.
